Hours of Operation

The History Museum is currently closed for renovations and exhibit construction. Check back for announcements. The Archival Library remains open.

Archival Library

Monday – Tuesday	Available 9:00 – 4:00 by appointment
Wednesday – Friday	OPEN 9:00 – 4:00
Saturday	CLOSED
Sunday	OPEN 1:00- 4:00

Directions

From the north: Take IL 159 South to IL-159 South/IL-143 East/North Main Street. Turn left. Continue about ¾ miles. The Archival Library and History Museum will be at your right.

From the south: Take IL-159 North. Continue on IL-159 North/South Main Street to Vandalia Street. Continue on IL-159 North/North Main Street. Continue about ½ mile. The Archival Library and History Museum will be at your left.

From the east: Travel west on IL-143. Continue on IL-143 West/East Vandalia Street to Main Street. Turn right. Continue about ½ mile. The Archival Library and History Museum will be at your left.

From the west: Travel east on New Poag Road. Continue on New Poag Road/ St. Louis Street to Main Street. Turn left. Continue about ½ mile. The Archival Library and History Museum will be at your left.

Parking

Limited parking is available on Main Street and behind the Helms Collection Center at 707 North Main Street. The main parking lot behind the Museum building and handicap accessible spaces can be accessed via the Second Street or Main Street entrances.
