Dining in History (DIH) is an annual MCHS event held at a historic property in Madison County where guests can enjoy a catered dinner and learn about the venue through a program and self-guided tours. The 2019 event at the John Wildi Masonic Temple in Highland, Illinois, will explore the history of freemasons. The Highland Lodge is in a grand house, completed in 1900 and donated to the Masons in 1920. It was built for John Wildi, one of the founders of the Helvetia Milk Condensing Company (later Pet Milk). The last date to make reservations is October 25.
Pre-Dinner Activities:
Silent Auction to benefit Madison County Historical Museum and Archival Library. Explore the John Wildi Masonic Temple. Lodge members and local historians will be available to provide insights and information on the former Wildi family home that was donated to the Lodge in 1920.
