Dozens of theater venues and opera houses were built in Madison County during the first half of the 20th Century before television captivated viewers. Some of these buildings are still standing, and a few still provide entertainment for today’s audiences. A series of articles on pages 4-8 provides information on the buildings still in existence. The north-western part of the county was covered by Terry Hillig and other communities by Cindy Reinhardt.
