History Harvest: Wood River Public Library

Do you have items that tell the story of how your family came to Madison County? Bring an item to the Archival Library to be photographed or scanned! An image of your item will be entered into the historical society’s collections, and you’ll receive a high-quality digital image of the item.

Scanning will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on February 25, 2023, at the Wood River Public Library, 326 E. Ferguson Ave, Wood River, IL 62095. Walk In or By Appointment. https://bit.ly/wood-river-harvest

  • FAQs
  • Do I have to donate the item? No! You keep the item. We’ll just take a picture.
  • How many items can I bring? Please pick out one or two items that you find most interesting and relevant to the theme.
  • How long will it take? Appointments take about 20-30 minutes.
  • What kind of things are you looking for? It would be anything! Anything, that is, of a reasonable size to photograph inside the library — letters, photos, documents, special items that someone carried with them on their journeys. There are lots of stories, and lots of items that tell those stories.
