The Madison County Historical Society (MCHS) and Friends of the Wildey Theat
er are hosting “Thomas Jefferson: The Man and Legacy” featuring historian Kurt Smith at the Wildey Theatre on Thursday, May 11, at 7 p.m.
Historian and researcher Kurt Smith has devoted his life and career to the study and portrayal of Thomas Jefferson. He is one of only two men who work full-time introducing the public to the story of Jefferson as a man, as well as a dynamic figure in the history of America. Smith often appears at Colonial Williamsburg where Thomas Jefferson attended college at William and Mary.
Smith’s presentation gives an honest portrayal of Jefferson in all his humanity as a hopeful, flawed, passionate human being.
The historic Wildey Theatre in Edwardsville, Illinois is located at 252 N. Main Street. Thanks to the
support of the Lewis and Clark Historical Society, this event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. For additional information about this event, call MCHS at 618-656-1294.
