Main Street in Edwardsville\, Illinois. His program\, “Gertrude Barlabie\, Amanda Kitchell and Those Who Helped Them\,” tells the story of two St. Louis slaves who in 1853 escaped to freedom to Canada via the Underground Railroad of northwestern Madison County.  \n
